The Three Strikes Law was implemented to protect society against serious and heavy criminals like rapists and murderers. In California however this law punishes non-violent criminals as heavy as rapists and murderers ! Because of this 4500 Californian families are victimized because the father or mother was sentenced to 25 years-to-life because of shoplifting or burglary as their third felony ! We feel this was not the purpose of that law! We find such punishment to be unjustifiable, inhumane and unworthy of America. We urge you to amend the Three Stikes Law, so that non-violent and non-serious crimes will NOT be counted in the Three Strikes Law!
